Our two Post Graduate Diploma programmes (PGD) have been
designed to provide students with a broad understanding of
working life and practices within the hotel industry. To achieve
this goal the programmes have a dual perspective: these focus
both on the daily operations within the departments of a hotel,
as well as on the decision-making processes that lead to effective
departmental and hotel supervision.
During the 18 weeks of the programmes, students
are given hands-on instruction in the four
key functions of a hotel, i.e. Food Production,
Food & Beverage Service, Housekeeping and
Front Office Operations. This active exposure
to departmental activities is supplemented
by theoretical input to provide the necessary
underpinning knowledge.
The theoretical input includes lessons in
Management Control Systems and Hotel Operations
Management. These subjects are delivered in
a combination of lectures, seminars and case-study
work.
Course Location: SEG University Centre, Leysin.
