Included in Fees

1. Enrolment Documents, Residence Permit, VAT, Visitor tax.

The following documents are issued for each successful applicant:

 

Provisional Acceptance Letter

This letter is sent out within one week of receiving your enrolment.

 

Confirmation Letter / Invoice

After we have received your deposit payment of CHF 3000.- (without cancelation insurance) or CHF 3’300.- (including cancelation insurance) we will send you the confirmation letter.

 

Residence Permit / Visitors Tax

IHTTI will apply for your residence permit as soon as you arrive in Switzerland. All costs to the authorities are included. Foreign nationals staying in Switzerland for more than one week have to pay a daily tax to the local authorities. IHTTI covers this tax.

 

VAT

All expenses for VAT (Value Added Tax) are covered in your fees.

 

 


 

2. Pre-departure Assistance, Introduction Weekend

Pre-departure Orientation Session

In many countries IHTTI or our local representatives organize pre-departure orientation sessions about 2 weeks before leaving for Switzerland.

 

Welcome Desk

During the arrival weekend IHTTI has a welcome desk at the Geneva Airport to provide IHTTI students with any help they may require upon arrival in Switzerland. IHTTI also organizes transportation from the airport to the school. Cost from Geneva CHF 175.- one way.

 

Introduction Workshops

Introduction workshops are organized on Saturday and Sunday of the arrival weekend to provide students with important information about their stay in Switzerland.

 

 


 

3. Academics

Tuition

Tuition by qualified and experienced lecturers. The number of lessons depends on the selected programme and year of study (please refer to “programmes” for details).

 

Books & Teaching Materials

Excellent up-to-date books as well as all required teaching materials are included in the fees.

 

Academic Guidance

The Programme Leaders of Academic Dean guide the students through the academic term and are available to solve any academic issues that may occur.

 

Internet

Students have 24 hours free access to the wireless internet in the entire building as well as to computers in Coffee Bean café and the computer room.

 

Library

Students have free access to the library, and an experienced librarian is present for assistance.

 

Graduation & Final Qualification

At the end of the chosen academic programme, graduates, relatives and friends are invited to participate in the graduation ceremony.

 

 


 

4. Internship Services

The IHTTI Internship Office provides students in the 1st year of the main programme and the PGD programme with an internship in Switzerland or abroad.

 

CV Interview / Job Interviews / Work Contract

During the CV interviews, the Internship Officer will discuss with each student individually his/her curriculum vitae and update it in the IHTTI database. As soon as a hotel/restaurant confirms an interest, a job interview will be arranged. Students will be provided with details regarding the location of the interview and requested preparation. The work contract is then signed directly between the employer and the student and overseen by the internship office.

 

Assistance During Internships

The IHTTI Internship Office remains available for any assistance or help required during the internship.

 

Assistance for 2nd Year Students

2nd year students are encouraged to find their own internship as part of their academic skills development. However, the Internship Office remains available if help is required.

 

Internship report

The Internship Officer establishes, together with the employer, an internship report at the end of the employment.

Accommodation in Twin Standard rooms is included in the basic fees. IHTTI School of Hotel management also offers a range of more exclusive rooms.

Bed linen and towels are provided for all rooms categories. Towels are changed once a week by the housekeeping departement. Bed linen is changed every two weeks or upon request.

Rooms are cleaned once per week by the housekeeping department.

 

 


 

6. Meals

All meals are included 7 days per week: 3 meals form Monday to Friday and brunch and dinner on weekends. Students can choose either of the 2 IHTTI food outlets.

 

“Chatterbox” Cafeteria

The International Buffet Cafeteria serves a range of international cuisine including a salad buffet in the evenings.

 

French Restaurant “Les Amis”

The French training restaurant serves many traditional and classical dishes from an “à la carte” menu.

 

Special Diet

  • For vegetarians, a special main course is available.
  • For students who cannot eat beef or pork for religious reasons, other choices will be available.

 

 


 

7. Leisure

Facilities

All facilities as described in the brochure are available to students

 

Gym

IHTTI has a number of membership cards for the local gym that may be used by students. The cards are available at the reception desk, and must be returned within 2 hours. This service is free of charge.

 

Excursions

Optional excursions and / or professional visits to a hotel or a trade fair are organized every semester.

 

 


 

8. Insurance and Social Assistance

Insurance

Students are covered during the academic term against illness and accident. Details of the insurance conditions are stated in the Student Handbook distributed at school. Students may keep this same insurance during their intership and benefit from a discounted monthly premium.

 

Social Asistance

Our student counselor is available for any personal or medical assistance required. If needed, a doctor’s visit will be arranged.

 

 


 

9. After Graduation Services & Alumni

After Graduation

IHTTI prodes itself on its graduate placement services. IHTTI runs a Placement Office which assists students to find opportuities for employment or management training programmes after graduation.

 

Alumni

Membership of the IHTTI Alumni network is included for graduate students. Alumni events are organized in many countries around the world.

 

 


 

10. IHTTI Business Suit

A business suit (1 jacket, 1 trouser or 1 skirt, 1 tie or 1 scarf) is included in the fees.
